Calipso Ocean Lodge- Avellana Beach Hotel - Playa Avellana

Beautiful gardens, cute hosts, immaculate attention to detail, a charming paradise for relaxation.

It was an AWESOME experience. Pleasant staff and comfy location to Rapture Surf camp, everything was nice. Location: the hotel was so close to beach, restaurants and the hot Costa Rica. Plus, it was approx 45 mins walk from Playa Avellanas.

Staff were best and pleasant, rooms were spacious and equipped with hammock, air conditioning. The location was stunning and beautiful as for me.

Cannot find any fault!

Charming oasis, helpful hosts. Monica and her husband were amazing, providing excellent local activity recommendations and assisting with last-minute taxi arrangements from the airport.

during my stay, I loved how close everything was, especially the short walk to Playa Avellanas and the fantastic restaurants just a stone's throw away, making my weekend city strolls around the area so enjoyable and effortless.

Clean space with a simplistic charm. The overall vibe captures a Pura Vida essence that encourages embracing life's little quirks.

Missing key amenities like a mini refrigerator and a hairdryer really bump up the inconvenience level. Breakfast was misrepresented. The promised hot meals turned out to be a bag lunch in a community kitchen. Separate terraces are too close for privacy. Sheets only, no blankets given without a hassle.

The communal kitchen was a fantastic space for making quick snacks, and the morning yoga classes were refreshing after a long day on the beach.

The room lacked a mini refrigerator and we had to contend with only a flat sheet on the bed, uncomfortable at times.

Unfortunately, I experienced several disappointments . The lack of basic amenities like a mini refrigerator and hairdryer made things rather inconvenient. The breakfast was misrepresented, and I expected something more substantial than a bag lunch in the communal kitchen. Having only a flat sheet for bedding was uncomfortable, and I felt the staff were unhelpful when I asked for an extra sheet. It was like pulling teeth just to get a little more comfort.

The lack of a mini refrigerator and coffee maker was a real inconvenience, but what shocked me was asking for an extra sheet. You'd think I was asking for their firstborn. The misleading breakfast situation could've even been forgiven with a little extra sparkle in my stay, as a simple welcome gift would have been ideal. Just couldn't praise it.

The lodge's simplicity was charming, but the ants in our room were a bit off-putting.

The communal kitchen was handy for quick snacks, making it feel like home. Bring your own toiletries since they weren't provided.

Located away from the busy tourist areas, our cozy accommodation was just a short walk from the beach and a variety of restaurants. the room was exceptionally clean with new amenities. the communal kitchen was convenient, and the staff was welcoming and helpful.

Construction noise from neighboring plots could be disturbing.

Awesome spot for solo travelers!

The communal kitchen was super handy for quick snacks, and the vibe was super chill. Walked to the beach in 5 mins-perfect! The outdoor dining area was lovely to kick back in. Just wished the pillows were a bit comfier. Great experience!

The communal kitchen was perfect for our late-night snacks, and being able to do yoga in the mornings was a highlight. The beach is super close, and we visited Tranqui FunKey-Surf & Yoga for classes which was great. Staff were helpful and made checking in easy!

One downside was that the pillows could definitely be comfier, made sleeping a bit challenging at times.

I enjoyed morning yoga, hammocks, and a communal kitchen.
